LaSalle Rotary Park

Recreational Park Design 

 

City of LaSalle Illinois recreational park design located north of Rt 6 and west of I-39.

Baseball Fields

-1 Minor/Instructional League

-1 Little League

-1 Junior/Senior League

 

Softball Fields

-2 for girls- same size- 200-225ft

-2 for Adults ( 1 mens 1 womens)

 

Central Concession/Restroom Building

-Buildings consisting of concrete block construction

-Building includes programed meeting room

 

Wooded area/Picnic area

-Shelters

-Fully equiped playground

 

Maintenance/Storage Building

-Set aside- away from diamond complex

-Building includes area for recreational storage

 

Amphitheater

-Amphitheater to be located on bottom of existing hill

-Should seat over 2,000 people

 

 Location of Site

-Yellow represents 52 acres to be developed into Rotary Park

-Red represents 110 + acres donated by Illinois Cement Company that will be turned into Prairie Perserve

 

Existing Site

 -Parcel 4 will be purchased by city and turned into recreational programming for family activities

 Site Considerations

-Topography map: each line represents a 10 foot elevation change

-Analysis: site is relatively steep on western and southern side

  -Rotary Park will be located in the center of the 6 TIF districts that are planned for future growth of city

Working Concept

 

-Northeast mens/boys diamonds, 92 unit parking lot, ADA accessible playground, picnic/shelter area by trees, liesure paths through trees, & large and small dog park

 

-Northwest girls diamonds, 2,000 person amphitheater, storage, batting cages, & restrooms

 

-Southest senior league/high school diamond, grand entrance, 170 unit parking lot, concession stand, & multi-purpose soccer field

 

-Potentially Amphitheater's view over existing valley towards the city of LaSalle

 

 

 

 

 Prairie Preserve Park

-110+ acres of land donated by Illinois Cement Company to be turned into a prairie preserve park adjacent to Rotary Park

-Restored Prairie with 4.1 miles of paths, 20 acre stocked lake, observation decks, pavilions, event pavilions for weddings, & 100 unit parking lot

 

-Park ideal for large scale cross country meets, preferably IHSA state cross country meet

 

-20 acre lake, fully stocked, paddle boat, & canoeing
